Learn more about Braidy!

How did you get into Pilates?

I have grown up around pilates my whole life, with my mum running her own studio since I was about 3 years old! I have always loved movement, and connecting with people, so it seemed like the perfect fit and I haven’t looked back!

What’s your favourite exercise and why?
On the reformer, I’d have to say semi-circle is one of my favourites. Lots of delicious spinal articulation, while working the glutes and hamstrings at the same time! I also love any kind of lateral flexion or extension on any of the barrels, makes my spine happy!

Why do you love Pilates?
I love how inclusive Pilates is! It’s athletic and targeted, while being safe and accessible to all. Whether you are injured, or an athlete looking to advance further, pilates has something to fit everyone.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about Pilates?
That they have to be flexible, or strong, to even start! That’s what we are here for, everyone starts as a beginner!

How has Pilates changed your own body/fitness level?
Pilates has helped me massively with body awareness, my posture and how both of these things impact my day to day physical wellbeing. I find that I’m always able to rely on my pilates knowledge to help me in any other form of exercise, whether that be in my form or overall strength.

Why did you become an instructor?
I love to connect with people, I am constantly thankful for the fact that I get to bring joy to people through movement. Helping clients feel the burn, or feel improvement when recovering from injury is awesome.

What makes your class special?

I love to layer in lots of technical cues where applicable to make sure everyone is getting the most out of their exercises. Encouraging people to connect deeper in their mind-body connection and (sometimes) to slow down a little makes a big difference to a class!

Why do you love Align Pilates?
I love how welcoming the align community is!

How long have you been a teacher?
I’ve been teaching for around 6 years! But have grown up with pilates in the background at my mums studio.

Do you prefer fitness or technical classes?
I like to think that you don’t have to compromise technique in a fitness class, and fitness in a technique class! In saying that, my style is definitely more technical.

In 5 words, how would you describe your teaching style.
Kind, informative, fun, clear and strong.

 Why is Pilates your passion?
I love how it makes people feel, and I love being the one to help them feel it!

What makes your class sweaty?
Lunges + pulses does it every time.

What are 3 x things people might not know about you?
- I have a beautiful dog called Freddie!
- My Mum is also a pilates instructor and has been for 20+ years.
- I love food!

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
To click my fingers and transport anywhere.

What's one piece of advice you would give to someone starting their Pilates practice?Don’t be afraid, we are all beginners once, enjoy the process of learning and mastering the practice!
